Prof. Dr. Fereidoon Shahidi

Dr. Fereidoon Shahidi is Research Professor at the Memorial University of Newfoundland in Canada. He servers as Editor-in-Chief for the Journal of Functional Foods, and the Journal of Food Lipids; as editor for Food Chemistry; and an editorial board member for several journals, including the Journal of Food Science, Journal of Agricultural & Food Chemistry, Nutraceuticals & Food, International Journal of Food Properties, Current Nutrition & Food Science, and Inform. Dr. Shahidi authored over 600 research papers, several book chapters, and edited 40+ books. His research contributions have led to several industrial developments worldwide. Between 1996 and 2006, Dr. Shahidi was the most published and most frequently cited scientist in food, nutrition, and agricultural science as listed by the ISI. Dr. Shahidi has received numerous awards, including the ‘Stephen Chang Award’ in 2005 from the Institute of Food Technologists (IFT), for his outstanding contributions to science and technology.
