Prof. Dr. Olubenga A. Ogunmoyela

Dr. Olugbenga Ben Ogunmoyela is a Professor of Food Science and Technology at the Bells University of Technology, Abeokuta, Nigeria; and also appointed as Dean of the College of Food Sciences since 2006. He is an fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Food Science & Technology (2001), and the Institute of Public Analysts of Nigeria (2012). He is also a professional member of the Institute of Food Technologists (IFT), USA. He served the Nigerian Food Journal in different capacities as an editorial board member, deputy Editor-in-Chief (1985-1993), and Editor-in-Chief (2010-2013). He is an elected Chairman, Body of Fellows of the Nigerian Institute of Food Science & Technology and in recognition to his outstanding contributions to food science & technology, the Institute honored him with the ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ in 2019. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Public Analysts of Nigeria where he also holds the position of First National Vice Chairman of Council. He has authored over 60 publications in leading journals, refereed proceedings, and books, as well as mentored over 250 food professionals. Dr. Ogunmoyela is a technical Consultant and a senior advisor to the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) in Geneva, Switzerland. He is involved in several GAIN projects aimed to improve the quality of life for the most vulnerable populations in Africa. In 2019, he established the Consumer Advocacy for Food Safety and Nutrition Initiative (CAFSANI), a non-profit organization, for consumer protection, sensitization, enlightenment and awareness of increasing nutrition and food safety challenges and abuses in Nigeria.
