Prof. Dr. Pingfan Rao

Dr. Pingfan Rao is Professor and Director of the CAS.SIBS-Zhejiang Gongshang University Joint Center for Food & Nutrition Research. He earned his BA in Food Technology at Fuzhou University, China in 1982, and Ph.D. in Biochemistry at Osaka University (Japan) in 1989. Dr. Rao was elected fellow of the International Academy of Food Science & Technology (IUFoST) in 2008, and President of the IUFoST (2012-2014). He is honorary Vice President of Chinese Institute of Food Science & Technology, and Editor-in-chief of Nature Partner Journal (NPJ) Science of Food.
