Prof. Noller is a graduate of the University of NSW (BSc1971, MChem1973) and the University of Tasmania (PhD 1978). He was Research Fellow Australian National University (1978-1980), Senior Research Scientist at the Alligator Rivers Region Research Institute, Jabiru, Northern Territory (1980-1990), Principal Scientist for the Northern Territory Department of Mines and Energy (1990-1998) and 1998-2006 Professor Noller was Deputy Director of the National Research Centre for Environmental Toxicology (ENTOX), the University of Queensland. From 2006-2023 Professor Noller was Principal Research Fellow in the Centre for Mined Land Rehabilitation at the University of Queensland. Professor Noller was President of the Royal Australian Chemical Institute in 1996 and President (2001-2003) and Past-President (2003-2006) of the Federation of Asian Chemical Societies. Professor Noller is Chair of the International Advisory Committee and has steered the Asian Symposium for Medicinal Plants and Spices (ASOMPS) on behalf of UNESCO at several Asian venues from ASOMPS IX 1998 through to ASOMPS XVIII 2023. Professor Noller is Fellow RACI (1989), RSC (UK) (1992), FACS (2005) and IUPAC (2012). Professor Noller has published >226 refereed papers and presented >452 conference papers over the past 45 years in the field of environmental chemistry and industrial toxicology with a focus on peak contamination issues using risk management associated with bioavailability studies of toxic elements to understand significance to human health and ecological/environmental issues.
